Since I live alone in an older home with 4 stories of usable living space space, I always have quite time. Except when my 2 y.o. grandaughter is here. But my favorite place (and hers) at the present time are two landings in my front foyer going upstairs. There are matching comfy chairs with a window on each landing we love to sit on our respective places and read or talk. Very relaxing.

We have a covered deck on the 2nd story of our house that runs the full distance of the house. Over the years I have put 2 sets of big cushioned swings, plants and even a small fountain on it. It is shaded by 2 huge tress, and I start grieving about now when I have to cover everything and put it all away until Spring. I have been known to sneak out in fleece to spend a bit of time even now, and am hoping next year to add either a fire pit or an outdoor heater so that even when the snow flies I can have my peaceful place. No matter how stressful life gets, it seems that whether a baby or an adult, swinging gently is soothing and stress relieving! I can't wait till Spring, but even in the Winter it is a sheltered place to watch the snow fall. Then rush in for hot Cocoa!

I love to kickback on our bed. We bought a new mattress set, this summer. It has made relaxing, that much better! I prop up our pillows and usually dive into my latest read, cut coupons, bible devotions, or just take a nap.

I have been told the bedroom should be only for sleeping and sex--however, I have a dvd player and vhs player in my bedroom along with my favorite book I'm reading at the time. When I need space, I go to the bedroom, close the door and watch a good movie or dig into a good book. I also have a stereo in my bedroom that I sometimes plug my headphones in and kick back and relax to my favorite music. When I am refreshed, then the bedroom door comes open!! Wink

On the rare occasions that I DO get time to myself, my alltime favorite thing is to sit in bed, with every single pillow arranged around me (like a nest), and read whatever book I'm working on finishing at the time. Oh, those moments are rare now, but so very appreciated. I just get mushy THINKING about having that time. Ahh....

Master Bedroom for sure.  I live in a two story townhome & I use an electric messager for my neck when I lie down on my bed.  It revives me and I sometimes do without the messager and take a short nap.  I do not sleep long periods at a time and this nap helps me through the remainder of the day.   The master bedroom is upstairs cutting out most noises from either outside or downstairs.  Thank you for asking.

When i am really stressed out I get a quick getaway to my master bathroom. that's the only place where no one will even try to get me to take a phone call.lol My fav "me" time is late at night when everyone is tucked in bed and all  is so quiet you can hear a pin drop. One of my cats will curl up in my lap and I'll read or watch a show I've taped!

We recently build a screened in porch on the front of our mobile home. The whole thing probably cost us $500 and we had several people help us and used some materials we already had. It came out MUCH nicer than I expected considering we didn't have a ton of money to put into it. We did it so that it's a wall half way up and then the rest was screen. We put outdoor carpet in it and did a roof that overhangs so that we can sit outside even in the rain. I moved my rocking chair out there, a few potted plants, and a few other items to make it cozy. It's my new favorite place! I love to go out there to read my bible or for general peace and quiet. I also have two small children so this gives me a sort-of outside retreat with them without having to venture far. Totally worth that little investment.

After my toddler falls asleep at night I spend about 2-3 hours surfing the net or watching what I want to watch on television. It's great! Everyone is asleep and she doesn't wake up like her afternoon naps. I sometimes wish it could last longer but I know she will be waking up the first hour of the daylight.

It is so hard for me to find time for myself!  I need to work at it.  Work, kids, husband and house keeping keeps me so busy!!  I need to make it a habit to just go away alone somewhere and relax

With a 14 almost 15 year old son I am constantly going to my "special places" which include my office when no one else is there, the cemetary 1 mile away from home (very peaceful), my storage area where I sort through thousands of clothing items and items that there is no room in my house for, the health and racquetball club I belong to, my basement where I do the laundry...but the best place to go to relax and get away from a teenager is to my "ratty room with my 36 pet rats"  you can't possibly be stressed out when you hold/handle pet rats...they force you to relax...I swear it is so relaxing to spend time with them...they are the greatest pets...oh, and my black lab pup is great to spend time with but not as relaxing as when I'm with the pet rats....anywhere I go where my teenage son is not present is a "special place" made especially for relaxing.  Maria in CT

When I just need some time just to get away I go to my bedroom, plop on my bed, open up a book that I am reading at that time(right now it's The sword of truth series) and just get away to another place. I love to read.

With my basket of quilting, my sunroom on the back of the house, is my quiet time location.  Surrounded by windows, the view of trees, birds, squirrels...it IS the best place to regain housewife focus and relaxation.

My time out space is in the office/study. That's where the computer is. I love to play Peggle and kill some zombies (Plants versus Zombies game).
