1st I have to say I wanna try this on some of my husbands old white undershirts. Because nothing has gotten those stains out.. I did find out what causes yellow stains and how to stop them from happening again!!!  My understanding is the that aluminum salts in deodorants and antiperspirant is what makes the stains. Also, stop using antiperspirant and start using natural crystal deodorant!! ... sounds scary I know! My husband would come home with wet and yellow armpits on brand new shirts! I was fit to be tied when the stains didnt come out! Then I found out about natural crystal deodorant! Well this stuff is amazing! It is literally a piece of crystal (also sold in roll on) and you moisten it and rub on like you do deodorant. the solid crystal is about $4+ at drug stores, but it is said to last a year! so I think it might be a money saver too! I was shocked and amazed when my husband came home (in another brand new shirt!) with no wet armpits and no yellow stains! AND NO ODOR! No more yellow stains for close to a year now!!! I think he actually perspires less now. My thought is since your body is naturally supposed to sweat, and when you put an Antiperspirant on, your body tries even harder to get whatever it gets out of the pores, out! I don't know if I would chance my clothes with oven cleaner... seems harsh.  But I will tell you that i tried a new deoderant about a year ago... it stained my shirt the very first time I used it.  So I called the company to complain and they told me to go to the hardware store and get dry cleaning solvent.  Well i couldn't find it.  So truth is I don't know how well it works but for those of you who may know where to get the solvent be my guest to try.  I figure they wouldn't have sent me the $10 to buy it if it didn't work.  Have a blessed day all! :O)

I've tried many different things to get out the stain from deodorants, with no luck.  Does anyone know if different deodorants cause this more than others?

Wow, I have never heard of this.  I will have to try it next time i can't get out deoderant stains.  I sure hope it works. If not, the blouse is going in the trash can anyway.

I usually let my clothes sit for awhile after applying any type of stain removal product.  How would I handle this?  Put the clothes in the washer immediately or let them sit?

This oven cleaner trick works wonderfull I had baby clothes I put in a tote 4 years ago that had formulas stains I tried this and now they are as good as new the oven cleaner I used was called easy off

I prevent the yellow arm pit stains on my white shirts by spraying with shout before washing before I even get the stain....works for me!

I HAVE USE  CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER TO GET STAINS OUT OF CLOTHING AND THEN I RUB A BAR OF IVORY SOAP ON IT AFTERWARDS AND IT REMOVED THE GREASE STAINS~~~

Yeah, that's a good question.  Does it work on colors, too?  And I never saw where anybody posted what kind of oven cleaner.  That lady who told about the Scrubbing Bubbles on the stains in the car....THANK YOU, Precious.  I can't wait to try THAT!!!  We took my mother-in-law out to eat a while back and she got a TO GO container.  When she put it on our seat...it spilled grease all over our upholstery.  We thought it would always be ruin.  It is so ugly.  I HOPE this does work.  Thank you all for all your good tips.  Kaye

Christine, I've never heard of putting oven cleaner on your stains to get them clean.  I told my husband...who usually does the wash cause I had a brain aneurysm, which left me crippled, and he couldn't believe it.  We are looking forward to giving it a try...well, not looking forward...cause nobody wants a stain, but NOW we know what to do to get it out.  Thank you!!!   Kaye

Awesome!!!  I have some things with mysterious stains - that I'd like to get 'presentation fresh'!  I just knew there had to be a way - or someone would develop a way - to get those stains out!  I've tried Oxyclean, and several other 'stain removers' - so I hope this will work!I too am a Melaleuca fan - and will probably try the dishwasher soap. :DFor those that wonder why this works - my guess would be the ratio of lye in oven cleaner being much higher than in bath or standard laundry soap.

 Another hint on whites aka especially kitchen uniforms, powdered dishwasher soap. I had to try it...great on the socks that make it outside without the shoes "all by themselves"

I'm with you Samantha!  We don't really have many clothes w/ yellow stains, but when I have in the past, I've just soaked them in the washer w/ a bunch of oxiclean and hot water.  That stuff takes EVERYTHING organic out... blood, baby spit-up, grass stain, & pit-stain! lol  :)

I tried this morning using the oven cleaner to take the yellow stains out of some tank tops that I wear to the gym....it ended up turning them a grayish color where I sprayed the cleaner!  I don't know what brand oven cleaner you are using, but for me it did not work!!  If you could please let us all know what kind of oven cleaner you are using then that would help us all out a bit!  Thanks! (BTW, I did also scrub the tank tops afterwards to try to get rid of the greyish color & it didn't work!  Now I have them soaking in the sink to see if that helps!)

Awsome!  I've thrown out many shirts that were in otherwise good condition because of the yellow underarm stains.  I never found anything that would get them out.  Thanks for the idea!

Wow, I know that scrubbing bubbles works super on walls but never heard of oven cleaner on clothes. I would be afraid it would eat the material and put holes in it. I will give it a try on some old tee-shirts and see what happens and here i thought i knew all the tricks for stains. Thanks so much!

That's pretty savy... guess what? It works awesome on shoes too! Spray those old dirty edges that never come clean, wait a few minutes and wipe clean :) all shiney like new!

I WISH I would have known about this trick.  I had a ton of clothing ruined by this problem and after switching to a perscription deoderant, I threw all my yellow-stained clothing out (or turned them into cleaning rags).  Thanks for the advice!

Something along these lines... Scrubbing Bubbles worked great on the set in stains on my car upholstry. We gave my mother-in-law our old car with years old set-in stains (toddlers, you know). We tried different things to no avail, she did this and they look fantastic. Spray on and wait a few minutes then wipe off with wet wash cloth, rinse wash cloth and wipe a few times, a little scrubbing if needed.

You're 'washing' the clothes, it's not like you'd spray them then wear them. Gosh. Anyways I think I'll try this with all our whites this evening and just wash them alone....Bleach doesn't always work so hopefully this will. TY
