After listeing to my nephew a soldier serving in Iraq talk about how blessed we are to live in a country where we have freedom this 4th of July means so much more to me.  We have a roof over our heads, food to eat and freedom to go out of our homes every day without fear.  I miss him terribly but know he is serving our country because that is what he wants to do.  I am truly proud of him and thank God every day for men and women just like him.

The 4th of July is a time to reflect on what others have given so that we may life in a free world.  A world were we can worship as we please, voice our thoughts without fear, and enjoy a life full of luxuary that many people will never know.  My father, husband. and son served this great country.  I thank them and everyone who served for the freedoms that I enjoy.  I am very proud to say "I am an American".

It's a great day filled with barbeques, celebrations of freedom, and fireworks.  I am a little worried that my three year old granddaughter will be frightened by the fireworks.  Short of not going, I'm wondering what to do.

My dad introduced me to patriotic music.  I developed a love and appreciation of it that I passed on to my own children.  Take out a CD of patriotic music and go to your local Fourth of July city-wide celebration.  The great John Phillip Sousa marches along with the waving of the American flag and the salute to the veterans will give them a wonderful taste of Americana.

The 4th of July has always meant the Airforce to me and the Blue Angels. But after growing up and joining the US Army that changed my pers[ective on Independence Day completely.I now understand all the sacrifices made to keep our rights free and our nation from tyranny by foreign and domestic enemies.I applaud our brave men and women who have served in Iraq,Afghanistan, and Pakistan, fighting the Al-Quida and the Taliban who threaten our way of life.God Bless America!

Fourth of July is more than picnics and BBO, it is time to reflect and give thanks to be so blessed for freedoms that we as Americans get to enjoy each day, realizing these pleasures we live so obliviously have come and continue to come at a very high price.  The price has been the sacrifice of both the men, women and their loved ones whom stand between us and those who would take these freedoms from us if they could.  They also preserve these freedoms despite legislators right here on our precious American soil who believe we can love our enemies into putting away their bombs and coming out from behind their masks of hatred to become our friends. Yet our soldiers stand tall and unwaver in their committment to the task before them and the oath they have pledged to do all they can, even unto death, to keep our people safe and our Country free.  That is what Independance Day means to me and I pray I am able to instill these sacred principles into the hearts and minds of my children to respect it appropriately the same way.  God bless America and our Troops.Dmd
We definitely live in the greatest country in the world!  I am the wife of a retired Army, Viet Nam vet.  I am proud of our servicemen for defending this country, so we can live here free.  That goes for servicemen past, present, and future.  God Bless America!

Many members of my family have been in a war, including my husband.I want to think about how lucky we have been as Americans, not seeing a world war on our soil. This is a day to thank our veterns and forefathers for this beautiful country. We may have many problems, but Americans are strong and faithful and will endure. GOD BLESS AMERICA, LAND THAT I LOVE!!!

The fourth of July isn't going to be about fireworks and loud bangs at my house this year. My brother was in iraq and he was injured while there. Loud noises now bring flash backs to him, so we are going up in the mountains for a camping trip and bringing the tents. Hopefully we will be able to see some of the fireworks from up there and he will be able to smile at them. While I'm so proud of my brother and what he did, I'm also sad that so many of our troops have problems like PTSD like he does and the sounds of the fireworks that they could be celebrating with us only upset them.

The number one thing I love about the United States is our freedom of speech. It's a precious, wonderful thing that I think many often over look. We are free to speak our minds about anything and everything. I would hate to loose that right and am glad I live in a country that acknowledges it.

I love the fact that this great country is so diversified.  From mountains to desert, we are all free to live where we choose, travel where we choose and worship as we choose.  I thank the many men and women that have made this possible for us.  God bless us this fourth of July!

May God bless this country and the people who live here. We need to guard our freedoms as many countries do not have these freedoms that we enjoy. Our country is beautiful and wonderous. Get out and see this country we call the United States of America. Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. Keep our troops in your thoughts and prayers as they are the reason we have this free land.Cool

The 4th of July to me means the celebration of our country! The men and women who have fought for us. And the men and women who have sacrificed their lives so we can have the freedom to do and say in this USA. I love getting together with my whole family, visiting, playing games, and eating the most wonderful food you ever put into your mouth. Then that evening we go to a Fireworks Display where everyone sits on blankets along a river and wait for the fireworks. And when they start it is amazing and absolutely breath taking. Last year I eventeared up bec. it was so beautiful as well as meaningful. We need to thank our troops for the sacrifice they make and have made for the freedom that we have. Also for God's grace that He shines upon us. We need to remember that God is the formost person that we are here. And when we get up every morning thank Him for that day we have. We have freedom bec. of the forefathers that wrote the constitution and fought those old battles on the battlefield. So, when we wake up Sat. morning, the 4th of July, give thanks to God above as well to the soldiers that our fighting and sacrificing their time and lives so we can have this wonderful privelege(sp)sorry.."Happy 4th of July" to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

For me, Independence Day is more than a day to celebrate the greatest country in the world being born, it is also my actual birthday.  Many people take for granted what this date means...we need to get back to the basics...it is a day of honor, sacrifice, and gratitude for our nation.  Hold those politicians accountable if they are not honoring those who created this great nation.  Make sure we keep the spirit of the "Fourth" in our hearts everyday...as for the birthday, it is a little rough to have it be my "special day" but to be honest how many people get fireworks every year for their birthday?  Please be safe and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
