I just joined Vocal Point tonight and to find a post about my long-time favorite TV show is great! Four generations of women in my family have watched ATWT and I've been a regular viewer since the early-80's. I even traveled to NYC six times to attend ATWT fan club events where I met many of the actors...I will cherish those memories more than ever because my beloved Oakdale is going away :( Carjack rules, by the way!

Call me old as dirt but what hasn't these soaps offered us? They have been everywhere from pregnacy to murder...Seems this crap is really getting old and stale....Wish they would come up with a totally different plot besides who's sleeping with who and who's baby it belongs too!!! Good grief, we see that everyday so why should we have to endure that on a series that has been through the mill already????

mmmm, I'm way old as I watched ATWT with my Mom every day in the '60s. Hate to see it go.

Now I feel old. I think they'll be together EVENTUALLY! When the stars are lined up in their soap opera lives, they will be together FOREVER!

You sound like me! I posted today about watching this show when I would rock my son in my rocking chair in 1976! I, too, would like to see the show end with happy and healthy relationships. I will really feel old, and kind of sad when the show goes away. I think I read that it would end in September.

I used to rock my colicky son in my rocking chair while watching one soap after another on tv. I finally became disgusted with myself and vowed to watch only one soap, and I chose As the World Turns. For one thing, it's an hour long (!), but also, I had watched those characters since I was a little kid, and cared about them. That was about 34 years ago, but I still watch ATWT.... I recently started watching The Bold and the Beautiful, but like ATWT becomes it has the glamorous characters, but also the devious, the normal, and still engages some of the older people in story lines.

I love As the World Turns! I have always watched all of the CBS soaps. First Guiding Light was cancelled, and now As the World Turns. I am very sorry to hear this news.

Jack and Carly should be back together...was so sorry to hear that this show might(or is?) ending...my favorite soap, since I was a kid - my grandmother watched it!!!

I do not watch; I prefer csi series and law & order series and criminal minds. soaps are not for me.

I watched this for awhile but decided I needed to put less time into soaps. Now I am just a GH watcher. Sad it is going off the air though. I was a devoted Another World fan. I had watched it for 29 years when it went off the air. It was a loss as I am sure is the feeling of long time As The World Turns fans.

love this program and never missed a day except when i had surgery! how i wish they would keep it alive and not cancel it. Mom used to listen to it on the radio! I think it would end nicely if Jack + Carley as well as Henry and Barbara have happiness. Heaven knows they deservre it, plus Henry is a fabulous character who does everything well!

I'VE BEEN WATCHING SINCE I WAS ABOUT 12 WIHT MY GRANDMA + MOM IN SUMMER, MY GRANDMA WOULD KEEP ME POSTED DURING SCHOOL DAYS. ONCE THE DAYS VCR ARRIVED, WE WENT BACK TO WATCHING TOGETHER. I HAVE CONTINUED THIS CUSTOM WITH MY KIDS AND FEEL TERRIBLE THIS WONDERFUL SHOW HAS BENN CANCELLED!

GIVE DUSTY A BREAK! PUT HIM WITH JANET, LET LILLY STOP BEING SOOOO DUMB!

I quit watching daytime soaps several years ago. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED them!!! But I was sitting on my behind for 3-4 hours getting fatter by the min.
