Summer Recipes

When I think summer – I think of all the fresh fruit that is finally in season after the dreaded winter! So we wanted to get you started with some fun and fresh fruit-filled summer recipes!

Strawberry season is upon us and I’m going strawberry picking this weekend so here are a couple of recipes for all of us to pin and make when the berries are in our kitchen!

Marta with Sense and Edibility is known for her popsicles and these Strawberry Coconut Popsicles are no exception. They are droolworthy and pinworthy!

If we’re picking strawberries today, that must mean we’ll be picking raspberries tomorrow! Kelly from Kitchen Gone Rogue has some great gluten-free raspberry oatmeal bars that will definitely give the kids energy while they’re on the go – checking off all of our summer bucket list items!

Steph at A Little Moore Blog went peachtastic with this recipe and made her own honeycomb. Who knew that was even a thing? I’ll definitely be trying her Roasted Peaches with Honeycomb and Ice Cream this summer.

What is ice cream though – without cake? This French Strawberry Cake is a personal favorite of mine and Foodtastic Mom! It’s her #1 recipe – I think it’s all those bright red berries dusted with sugar. What could be better?!

And everybody I know is mango crazy – so this Mango Pudding from Miss Crumbs-a-lot is sure to please at every summer gathering you have. It’s creamy and fruity – and that is a great combo for sure!

I can’t be the only person who got that Blake Shelton song, Sangria, stuck in my head – right? Well – now I can make Sangria instead of singing it! Picnic Life Foodie’s Summer Sangria recipe is sure to hit the spot – and after a few glasses of this – I’ll probably sound better singing too!

I love lemons and then you throw in cream cheese and my goose is cooked! I want it in my belly! And that’s exactly how I feel about this Lemon Cream Fruit Tart from Erin at A Bird and a Bean. Fruity goodness topped with more fruity goodness! Summer on a plate!

And what recipe roundup would be complete without me throwing in something from my own blog – The Food Hussy! My favorite recipe is the one my mother swears was brought over on the wagon train (#eyesrolling) – but I don’t care where it came from – because this Peach Cobbler is delicious!!! Everybody that tries it says they’ll never make another cobbler recipe!

Now you’ve got your summer planned out with in-season fruit recipes – what could be better?! They’re all so refreshing – I think I’ll have to dig in and start with some Blake Shelton on the iPod and that San-gri-ya!

i love the summer fruits, blueberries, watermelon, manderines, frozen yogurt make with fresh fruits. i love making smoothies with fresh fruit, ice, a little silk almond milk, some fiber added. i make a big batch and freeze some of it, it is like eating frozen yogurt. i also love adding fresh fruits in my yogurt. i make yogurt pops for my dogs, with greek all natural plain yogurt, blueberries, maybe some all natural honey, some mushed bananas, whip it up, and freeze in little cups for the dogs to eat out of them. i used to make fruit compote for my mother, i would use fresh fruit, bananas, raisins, put in the microwave with some water, just a little, maybe some splenda, then add low fat granola on top with some yogurt.

These dishes look amazing! I love serving up an ice cream bar at parties so that everyone can customize their own sundae!
