Life Coaching from Your Couch: It's real and it can change your life
Vocalpoint members recently had a chance to be the first to try a new online life coaching program called Life Reimagined; an online service that connects people with certified life coaching professionals as well as loads of free tools and resources. And, here's the best part: you don't even have to take your slippers off to take advantage of everything they have to offer.
Is life coaching basically therapy, with a different name?
Life coaching is a term you hear more often lately, but there is still a lot of confusion around what it means. People often compare it to therapy, although there is one important difference between therapy and life coaching: therapy focuses on the past, whereas the goal of life coaching (or good life coaching at least) is to help you make a plan to move forward. If anything, life coaching is more like a personal trainer for your soul than a therapist.
What if I don't know how to talk to a life coach?
It's really normal to be a little nervous about talking to a life coach--especially if you've never had an experience like it before, or if you aren't 100% sure what you want to accomplish. But, the strength of a good life coach is that they know how to ask questions and use tools to guide the conversation so you don't have to carry this weight. Take a listen to how Pamela, one of Life Reimagined's coaches, explains why you shouldn't let any anxiety about talking with a life coach hold you back from trying it.
I want the really reals. Does this work?
Obviously, everyone's life coaching experience is going to be unique. However, we heard overwhelming positive reactions from people about their experience. In fact, over 90% of people who tried Life Reimagined said they would go to a life coach again. We even heard from people who had already made moves to leave a job that had been holding them back before they even got around to sharing their feedback with us.
The most powerful takeaway from this program though was learning that life coaching is really and truly something everyone can benefit from. Whether you're struggling to move on from major life challenges or transitions, or just looking to add a little more organization to the noise of your daily life, the right life coach is going to empower you to improve your life. Several of the VP members who tried Life Reimagined were asked to travel to New York to share their own stories about their experience. Here's what they had to say:
