We exchange cards and candy on valentine's day as well as express our love all year long. Hubby and I have been married for 22 years so we have to work at keeping the spark alive or else it will fizzle.

This was an extra special Valentine's Day because my husband was off. We went to a wonderful restaurant and had a delicous, relaxing lunch. It was nice to enjoy each others company before the kids got home. Lunch was also cheaper than dinner

For the past 3 years it has become our family tradition to spend a night or 2 making homemade valentine cards for our local nursing home.  We get out the construction paper, ribbons, stickers, markers, paper hearts, glitter, etc. and just get creative.  My 3 kids love making the cards as we talk about who might get them or how excited someone might be.  I love spending quality time with them and teaching them about giving back to the community.  This year is extra special because my oldest daughter is doing her CNA clinics at the nursing home and will get to personally hand out our cards.

My husband and I are together 24/7 and we talk openly about everything.  we verbally share our feelings every day, notonly in words but in doing things for each other.  We celebrate our love every day.

I have continued a tradition from my childhood. Valentines Day is all about my husband, just like it was my dad. I don't mean us spoiling him, although we do. I mean that he is totally responsible for the gifts and planning the day. It's the only holiday he has much interaction with. For Christmas and birthdays he is just as surprised as the kids by their gifts. The ONE day, I'm the one surprised.

In February we have a lot of birthdays (including mine), and in March we have my sister's birthday, and our Wedding Anniversary, so Valentines Day is not celebrated much here in our house.  I do decorate the house a little, and we get a pizza or some kind of food delivered for dinner. We also give our dog an extra treat.  It is nice to show your love on this day but it should be shown every single day.  My husband and I have been together since high school and will be celebrating our 34 anniversary next month.

I live with my husband and it's my own thing to cook and bake something special for us.  Tonight I'm cooking Chicken Fricassee and I baked Black Forest cake in the afternoon.  I cannot wait for him to see them!!

Since we started dating my husband and I celebrate Valentines day on the 15th.  That way everything is 1/2 price and I can get a bigger box of chocolates.  We continued this tradition with our four children by telling them we can have a Hanson Valentines Day any day.  So we do Fondue and chocolates with cards on the 15th!!! :)

This year we started a new tradition of heart shaped foods. Breakfast: heart shaped strawberry pancakesLunch: PB&J with a heart cut out of the top slice of bread. This allowed the red jelly to show through.Dinner: Spaghetti with heart shaped meatballs

My husband is a good provider but romantic he is not. the last time he was romantic was while we were dating. I don't get evena hand made card, or gift for any occation. We don't exchange at Christmas but my birthday?and Valentines...he just tells me it's a hallmark holiday and flowers die and chocolate makes you fat and diamonds make your poor. Nice HUH!

It's my birthday, so my husband has chosen to make that his focus...  though we do Valentine themed foods and exchange cards.  I tend to knit him something red or bake him something that he likes.   We gave up on going out to dinner on that night because it's such a zoo, so I usually fix a dinner that makes him smile and we enjoy the evening together.  This year he asked for meatloaf (go figure) so I'm making a heart shaped one!  :-D

My husband and I used to go out for valentines but, when the kids came it was hard to get away.  So, we try to make a romantic dinner for 4 instead of two.  I get out the china for my husband and I and nicer plates than the usual for the kids but, not ones they can break.  I decorate the table and make a nice dinner.

I've ALWAYS loved celebrating Valentine's Day!  We have a 9yo son who loves it too.  He makes homemade art cards for his grandmothers, while I make one for him.  We get little gifts for each other (iTunes and specialty store gift cards and Legos, respectively) and plan a fun dinner to share together.  Tonight we are having brie/crackers/sour cherry jam to start, honeybaked ham/twice-baked potatoes/broccoli for the main course, and chocolate mousse for us and raspberry for the boy.  Dh picked up roses for me too, yeah!  We will have a lovely evening together!

My parents and I always give one another gifts. I always do something nice for myself whether I am single or not. Today I went to the movies to see The Vow.
