Rather then do a regular old card I decided to do something a little different. I found an old heart shaped wine bottle on Etsy.com for fairly cheap. I went to Michaels craft store and got red beads to put in it and also some pretty Valentine themed ribbon. I then wrote my hunny a sentimental love note on some paper that I made look old by heating it carefully with a lighter. Roll up the love letter and put it in the bottle along with the beads to give it a little extra oomph and then tied the ribbon around the neck. I'm sure he's gonna love it and all my girlfriends think it's an awesome idea. I figured it's too easy to go buy a card and I can't draw for anything... voila, unique Valentine created!

My grandchildren and I make all our cards.  They are 8 and 10 so they enjoy creating their own designs.  It is so much better to receive a card or homemade gift that you know they made themselves.  They always personalize each card or gift depending on the recipient.  The joy that they bring during this time is immeasurable.

I alway make all of my cards. I have given many of my cards away, for example, as Thank You, Get Well and also Just Thinking About You. People enjoy getting home made cards, so I will continue making all kinds.

Handmade cards all the way. I like to have the kiddos make cards for all occasions, school or family related. I think it shows the receiptiant that you took a little extra time and effort thinking of them.

I do a craft called "Pergamano" it's working with vellum paper to  make it look like lace. I make all my own cards using this craft. They turn out beautiful. I get comments all the time on them. And it's a lot of fun and very relaxing.

When I was 6 years old my Dad made me a cute Valentines Day card.  It meant so much to me.  That was 46 plus years ago and I still have the card.  It means even more to me now that he has passed on.

My favorite DIY Valentine's Day card is edible - a big jheart-shaped sugar cookie with a message written in icing.  Always a big hit!

My granddaughter made Valentines for us out of her handprints with help from her mom.  They were so cute and mean the world to us as grandparents.

I got my husband a free card from an omline store this year. We don't have much money and I'm not very creative but in the past we have done handwritten letters on parchment paper. The first handwritten letter he gave me was in a dozen roses with a ribbon around it, they were my first roses so I didn't realize the letter was special until I read it. Best Valentines Day ever.

We make ours... This year the boys are melting old crayons in a heart shapped pan so once they harden they will be heart shapped multi-color crayons! I am also making my new sort of boyfriend a card as all store ones say the word love and we aren't quite there yet.

My 2 children went with the character cards.  I always like to add a pencil or a piece of candy.

I'm not extremely crafty but I make my own Valentine's cards with the kids because I think homemade things are more meaningful. I do make little tissue paper flowers to put on the cards.
