This year my family and I are determined to eat better, we started by using more spices and herbs to add flavor to our meals rather than adding salt or fat

I love to use oregano and garlic in a lot of the meals I prepare, I also use bay leaves in stews, soups and sauces for extra flavor.

After reading about the health benefits of coconut oil, I'm determined to get more of it in our diets. Also trying to eat more real foods and fewer processed ingredients.

I want to eat more of a plant based diet. I am already vegetarian, but would like to cut out dairy. I would like start working towards my goal by using substitutes for milk. I am interested in rice milk.

We always use a lot of spices, especially chiles and chile powders.  Eating spicy food at least 3 times a week is supposed to rev up your metabolism - I hope so!

We eat our share of red and green peppers, and often include cloves of garlic in dishes.

I suffer from a cronic illness that means that many times during the year I have digestive problems that require me to eat a "bland" diet. Is there anyone out there that can help me with ideas or suggestions for some variety in this type of diet? I am so tired of eating the same old thing.

This year I want to stay away from processed food, fast food and not eat out unless it's a special occasion. I've already orders seeds to start a veggie/herb garden.  Recipes with lots of herbs instead of salt.  HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I have been a yo-yo veggie shopper- I go and stock up and then things go bad and I get mad for wasting it and I dont buy any for awhile.  So I am going to shop every other day for fruits and veggies and only buy what my family is going to eat for those two days.  NO wasting!

wanted to add, I ordered heirloom veggies I've never seen or heard of before.  Really excited to watch them grow and try new (old) things:  Purple cauliflower, white tomatoes, orange watermelon, (purple, yellow and red) carrots, chocolate bellpeppers, dragon's egg (white skin) cucumbers, white eggplant...plus, several others.

My husband & I are like to try adding some new (to us) veggies to our diets.  Last year we added asparagus & squashes to our diet.  This year, we want to learn how to prepare eggplant, fennel and artichoke in to some yummy recipes.

I think this year I will be trying to subsitute different spices in my meals and eat more meat-free options. I just bought some veggies burgers but am wondering what spices would be good to put on them to add flavor to them.

I don't know if this is true but we love spicy food. I wonder if you eat too much spice whether your body gets used to it and it no longer speeds up your metabolism.

We're planning to continue with new recipes and ingredients. This week we cooked with smoked paprika for the first time- such a difference compared to regular!

Trying to avoid processed foods as much as possible.  Although it's a bit pricey, I'm using wild rice in some of my recipes, because of it's great health benefits.  Didn't realize how much more nutritional it is compared to brown rice.

I've had this twice in the past, but I'd like to have it on a regular basis ... homemade kale chips.

I would like to say I want to add more fish into my diet, but I know I will never get over my hatred for anything water dwelling.  So instead I am determined to use (aka hide) more veggies in my dishes so that I can get more yummy food in my system and my family's system.

I plan on using some mild spices to get my family interested in more healthy vegetable and vegetarian dishes. They are all finicky eaters and don't like spices so I thought if I try some subtle herbs and spices they might transition.

After reading labels and seeing many store bought breads contain a lot more sugar and unnatural ingredients I've decided to make my own bread. My family loves flax seeds which will make it much easier for us to jettison the processed and go with a more natural nut, seeds, and whole wheat recipes.
