Leaning Tower of Magazines?

Category: Home
When your magazine piles begin to overflow, gather a hefty number together and drop them off at a nearby laundromat, doctor's office, coffee shop, office lobby or other waiting area (maybe your mechanic?). We've all experienced the boredom of not having something to read while you wait - so you'll be doing people a favor. And the owners of these establishments may actually thank you for it!

I will do this.  It seems like we never can get to all of them.

I always drop them off at the doctors or lab.  I also drop them off at a senior's center.

You can also donate them to the library.  I just did that a few weeks ago as well.

Like several have mention if you take to a nursing home or another "senior  living center" where there might be  "confused" seniors living be sure to take current mags. If they see an older date it can really "mess them up". Schools  make great places for older ones.... just be aware of the ones you are giving. None with "sexy" girls on the front or "sexy sayings". Know what I mean. So many magazines have these today and kids would just go everywhere with one of those. If you been around Elementary kids you know what I mean.LOL

These places are great some of which I haven't thought of. But another great place to take old magazines is to nursing homes, they appreciate different things to read.

I knew to pass them along to just anyplace that has a waiting area.  I like the idea of checking with the schools to see if they need them for projects.  I also will be checking out what several people said about Martha Stewart's christmas tree made of magazines.

adult care centers and retirerment homes often are glad to get them too.  Schools also use them for class projects.

We have three local nursing homes that are delighted to get these current magazines.  I also like the idea of taking them to doctor and dentist office, maybe your hair dresser, car dealership, etc. anywhere people have to wait for service.

Take your name and address off first. Our senior center has a put and take table. Good way to recycle magazines, books etc.

Maybe a senior center, too? My mom, grandma, friend and I all swap magazines. It is a great way to get a variety of recipes, too.I also remove the address label from my magazines, especially if I plan to take it to a doctor's office to read. That way in case I forget it, there shouldn't be any problem.

This is a great tip. I also take the extra Sunday papers to my local coffee shop (since I only buy them for coupons.)
Thank you Diane!

Right now is the best time to do some paper folds to those magazines and can make Christmas trees out of them. You can even spray paint them green and decorate them.

Never thought to take places.  I think I will take to several places in town.  Many times I have sat at Dr office or Dentist office with nothing to read..      Thanks.

I pass most of mine along to friends with the intention that they do the same thing.
