What Men Think of What You Wear

What Men Think of What You Wear

Ever wonder what he really thinks of that little black dress? Hey, we know it’s hard to get an honest answer when you put him in the hot seat and ask how you look. But we had the chance to ask a group of guys to tell us, in no uncertain terms, what they think about what we wear. Take a deep breath, ladies, it’s time to step in front of the mirror.

Wear Less!
Bling: If you rattle when you walk or sound like wind chimes in gusts, you’re turning him off. Plus—now think hard about this—he’s never going to buy you more jewelry if he thinks you already have too much.

Butt billboards: Walking around with words like Juicy or Pink on the back of your shorts isn’t sexy.

Black: Yeah, yeah, it’s stylish, it’s slimming, but it’s also boring. It takes confidence to wear color, and men find that trait sexiest.

Up-dos: These are fine for special events, but research shows men are more biologically attracted to women with flowing locks.

Gigantic sunglasses: Didn’t he tell you how beautiful your eyes were? Then what are you doing hiding behind those portholes? Ten years from now when you see photos of yourself in those, we guarantee you’ll say, “What was I thinking?”

Wear More!
Lingerie: Wait, there’s a catch. Guys say it’s sexiest when worn publicly beneath conservative clothing. A glimpse of frill in the neckline of a power-suit. A hint of lace at the waistband of your jeans. It’s the contrast between your public and private selves that’s intriguing.

Eyeglasses: Given the popularity of contacts and Lasik, a woman in glasses is unique these days. Granted, there’s probably some of the naughty librarian fantasy at work, but smart is sexy.

Terry bathrobe: We’re talking the enormous, fluffy kind from which only your eyes and toes peek out. Just stepped out of the bath. Nothing underneath. Of course.

A ponytail: Surprised us, too. Something about the carefree, girlish flounce of it apparently delights men. Just keep it loose (see “Up-dos,” above).

His clothes: You in his white dress shirt, boxers, or even his old Led Zeppelin tee all say that you love him so much you never, ever, want him to leave.

Just my 2 cents about Lasik - it may be popular, but that doesn't make it a smart decision. I've had three surgeries, and my eyes still are not 20-20; I wouldn't do it again. It's not for everyone!

If I may add to this...along the lines of rattling "bling"....most guys I dated didn't like loud/noisy shoes either.

Concerning Butt billboards... Some males I know like those "booty shorts" ads.  Personally, I think they could be sexy to wear at home for your man/mate/husband but definitely not out in public!

Glasses have come a long way! There are some really cute style available now. I do wear contacts, however if my eyes are bothering me, I don't frown so much about having to wear my glasses a day or two.

I don't think guys really like loud noisy anything (fashionably speaking) for that matter. Some things are just way to flashy. I really don't want to draw that much attention to myself!!

Lasik was the best thing I ever spent money on (except for having babies, of course).  YMMV but I got 15 years of not having to wear contacts or glasses, and I was about legally blind.  I think it's best for people who have Really Bad Vision so have to wear thick glasses or hard contacts, not people who are trying to tweak their not so bad vision so it's perfect.  Because for me, going from blind to being able to see the clock in the morning, go to the beach, see my kids from across the room, was miraculous.  Off-topic but wanted to post since two anti-lasik comments.

I am so glad that you posted this info. I have BAD eye sight and it has always been for my doctor to bring my eyes up to 20/20. I have wanted to try Lasik for years  but I didn't think it would help. Thanks

I'll agree, I got 10 good years out of my lasik surgey. I went from legally blind to 20/15 to now 20/20, but starting to deal with minor astigmatism issues; well worth the money though. It's refreshing to know men think glasses are a kind of 'smart' sexy considering I may need a slight perscription soon!!

I had an old boyfriend tell me he liked my glasses.  They made me sexy.  Interestingly enough, my husband tells me he likes 'the little wrinkles' around women's eyes.  Hmm...
