Protect Your Jewelry!

Never use bleach or chlorine based cleansers near or on jewelry. The chemical can break down the metals used in gold to make it strong enough for jewelery which can damage it beyond repair.

I heard  this from tv.  Take a pan and put aluminum foil in the bottom.  Then add HOT water, about 2 inches and a tsp of salt.  Mix it and then add 2 tbls of Dawn liquid dish detergent and mix till bubbles form.  Add your silver jewelry and let soak for 5-10 mins.  Rinse and dry with a soft towel.  It worked on my silver jewelry but do not use it on diamonds or gold jewelry. Try it, you may like it! I did and I love it and it costs nothing to try!

I wish I knew how to clean my favorite bracelet is one of those bendable shape and wear. It can even be used as a necklace if you leave it full length. I've tried silver jewelry cleaner and it seems to make it worst.

I always take my rings off when I do any type of cleaning.   It just is not worth losing anything that is so expensive to replace.  I have some jewely cleaner from a jewelry store.  I only need to use it once in a while with a very soft toothbrush.   Thanks for the reminder on this very important item.

I work at a jewelery store, and we actually use EZest Coin Cleaner... its like $4.50 and will last years!  1.)  Dip a old toothbrush in water then sprinkle baking soda on it-- clean diamond & underneath were lotion and dead skin cells stick.2.) Rinse baking soda mixture off3.) Dip in EZest for 5 seconds4.) Rinse5.) Tah Dah! Bright and Shiny just like the day you purchased it.   *Yes, people do pay $25 to get it done.

Thank you.  I had a client soak her diamond ring in bleach.  What a mess.
