Use Baking Soda to Whiten your Laundry!

Category: Home
Use a half cup of baking soda in your whites and/or other heavily soiled laundry! Baking soda is a natural way to increase the cleaning power of your detergent and helps to reduce odors! Great for socks!

Do you apply baking soda directly on ur teeth to clean them ? Like use it as a toothpaste..or do you need to keep it on your teeth for sometime ..and if yes ..for how long ?

Can I use it in my front loader? Also, do I just put diluted vinegar in the fabric softner compartment? Thank you.

I love it in the laundry...I use it on pool towels and swimsuits to help get rid of the chlorine smell and I cannot live without it when I wash my sons football clothes.

Awesome tip! I use baking soda for cleaniing a lot of things, but have never used it in the laundry.  I guess I just never thought of it, but it makes perfect sense.  I also save tons of money on all those whitening strips and toothpaste by simply using baking soda on your teeth.  You can see instant results, and with prolonged use your teeth are totally white!  My daughter loves it!

I love using baking soda for its deodorizing qualities. For those towels that somehow get left out and have that extra stink.

Another good tip that my family uses is drop a few tablet of aspirin into the laundry with the detergent. Cool

I have a VERY OLD bathtub that I could never get white because it was so scratched up. Good old baking soda to the rescue again. Until I can afford to get tub refinished, the baking soda keeps it looking clean & shines like it has already been refinished!

Baking soda is THE BOMB! It is the most economical & "eco friendly" way to clean practically everything. Who needs modern technology to clean things when you have plain old baking soda available?

I'VE DISCOVERED BAKING SODA FOR CLEANING EVERYTHING.  ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR GLASS TOP STOVES--CHEAP CLEANER AND NON-ABRASIVE; CLEANS BAKED ON FOOD ON STOVETOP. I ALSO COMBINE BAKING SODA WITH CHEAP LIQUID CLEANER TO CLEAN BATHTUB AND TILE.

I use baking soda for so many things, including laundry. I also use Borax in my load to help with hard water.  Vinegar is good for fabric softener, but you have to make sure it's diluted in the water and not at all directly on the laundry.  I bleached several light gray towels by accident from not diluting the vinegar well enough.  Now they have pink-colored patches all over them.

I love adding baking soda to laundry, I also add vinegar instead of fabric softener.  It removes any soap residue and brightens clothes!

I agree with you and have been using Baking soda for years. I use it to whiten my teeth, soak my feet, wipr out my sink and many other things. My mother taught me this when I was a child and I've always contined to use it. It's also good for soaking dentures.Thank you,Gail S.
