Clean Paint Brushes Easily!

Category: Home
Easily clean latex paint from paint brushes by mixing about a cup of water and a half cup liquid fabric softener. Stir the brush in the mixture and watch the paint come off! It also softens the brush bristles!

SmileWhat a Great tip. I have been painting for a week now.  Seems to Take more time to clean the brushes than to paint. Thank you for that tip.

That's a great idea.  Anyone know how to remove dried latex paint (ie Kilz primer) from your HAIR?  I have been painting the house for 2 weeks or more, still have some more to go, and no matter how much I wash my hair, it will not come out.  HELP!!  I look prematurely gray (or white Surprised).  I think I'll be wearing a shower cap when painting from now on!

I'll have to remember this one and give it a try. Wish I'd read this a couple weeks ago when I had some brushes to clean.

If this works it is a miracle!!  I have spent sooo many hours cleaning paint brushes and then they come out stiff and just plain crummy.  This sounds like a great hint, can't wait to try it.

This sounds easy and if it works then great.  Wish I knew about this last year when I was doing so much painting, but now will remember it for when I need to paint again.  Thanks.

Thanks, I'll use this for latex paints. Anyone out there w/ great tips for cleaning artist brushes - encaustic, oil or acrylic paints. My best for encaustic is Dawn in hot water mixed half 'n half w/ household ammonia, but always in search of something even better & a lot less aromatic. Toni

If I don't finish a project in 1 day I put the brush in the fridge or freezer. It keeps the brush from drying out. Easy storage and now easy clean up. Thanks!
