Chill Your Melon

Chill Your Melon

6 cups seedless watermelon chunks or balls (about 4 lb with peel)
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
1 Tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice (1/2 lime)
1/2 cup ginger ale

Puree watermelon, lemon juice, and lime juice in a blender. Slowly pour in ginger ale.

Freeze in an 9" × 12" baking pan. During freezing, rake with a fork or stir with a whisk (be sure to scrape sides of pan) every 30 minutes for 2 1/2 hours or until nearly frozen but not completely solid. Rake with a fork and serve.

Makes 4 servings

Per serving: 82 calories, 1 g protein, 21 g carbohydrate, 0 g fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 1 g fiber, 5 mg sodium

Yum!  would it be possible to freeze the mix in small ice cube trays and just use a mixer, kind of like a margarita?  Interesting.

YUMMMMMMMMMMMM!!  I usually make a water melon cooler like the vendors in Mexico.  Just add water melon and water with a bit of Sugar/Splenda and serve over ice!!  Super refresing!

I like that it's really refreshing and delicious and has no added sugars. Definitely a better alternative to watermelon flavored slushes made with sugar and artificial flavors!

Watermelon so signifies summer starting! We just bought a small seedless one for the weekend and read a health report that watermelon is one of the highest fruits for getting your daily FIBER!  So not only delicious but also nutritious.

If you like that then you will love this. Get some grapes rince them then dry them then put them in a bag. then just put them in your freezer. Now when your are hot just get a few grapes put them in your mouth . So GOOD
