Tea or Smoothie at Breakfast?

Tea or Smoothie at Breakfast?

3 Tbsp water
1 bag green tea
2 tsp honey
1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries
1/2 med banana
3/4 cup nonfat milk

In a small glass measuring cup or bowl, microwave water on high until steaming hot. Add tea bag and allow to brew 3 minutes. Remove tea bag. Stir honey into tea until it dissolves.

In a blender with ice-crushing ability, combine berries, banana, and milk.

Add tea to the blender. Blend ingredients on ice crush or the highest setting until smooth. (Some blenders may require additional water to process the mixture.) Pour smoothie into tall glasses and serve.

Makes 2 servings

Per serving: 138 calories, 4 g protein, 31 g carbohydrate, 1 g fat, 2 mg cholesterol, 4 g fiber, 41 mg sodium

By the way…
Since it’s easier to prepare 2 at one time, just store the extra in a closed glass jar in the refrigerator. You can transport this smoothie to work with you to enjoy for a snack. If stored several hours in a thermos, shake vigorously before pouring. The smoothie will be tasty but thinner than when freshly made.

I have several hot cups of green tea throughout the day with honey and Bragg's Vinegar.  Never thought of using in a smoothie.  Very tasty.  Thank you.

This sounds good, but I personally can't get into smoothies when it is bitter cold outside!! I will try to remember this for warmer weather!
