Whipping It Can Double It

Category: Home
When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving.

I dilute/stretch lots of foods, beverages, especially orange juice. Add GROUND FLAXSEED to almost everything including cake mix & ice cream because it's very inexpensive and HEALTHY too Cool

I agree.  So much sugar has caused me not to use much frosting, but this sounds like a solution.  And I happen to have some frosting in the pantry just ready for the whip!  Thank you Elizabeth.

This is a great tip and works wonderful! For my sons first birthday I made adorable Cookie Monster cupcakes and in order to do so had to put quite a bit of frosting on top to "round" them. I bought canned frosting and added some heavy whipping cream to it and blended it all together until it was stiff but still spreadable. It gave the frosting an awesome whipped and light texture and the taste was wonderful.

That is a great tip!  For some rason I thought whipping them too much meant they would come out drier than usual.  I will definitely give this a try!  In fact, I plan to make a pineapple upside down cake today.. sure would be nice to get more for my buck! :)
