Jello with a Twist

Category: Home
Protein, Calcium, sweetness, and so easy. Take any jello product, and when you get to the part about add clear cold water, substitute plain non-fat yogurt. Stir slightly, and then once again before it sets up. Its refreshing, tastes good, healthy, and easy.

Sounds Great!  Would be really healthy if you used sugar free Jello and Yogurt too!

I make my Jell-O like the package calls for and immediately add a package of cream cheese, beat with a mixer until the cream cheese is broken up and mixed thoroughly.  Put in fridge and you can add nuts on top.  I know it has a lot of calories, but it is a great dish at holidays.  I really like it in lime and strawberry Jell-O.

This is really a question ... obviously you must let the jello cool down before adding the yogurt, but before it begins to set-up, yes?

Or applesauce - cold, fresh, unsweetened for no more sugar, works with sugarless jello too.  It's one of the few food requests when the kids are sick and don't want to eat anything, as well as a cold summer snack.

WHEN MAKING JELLO WITH FRUIT,THE JUICE FROM THE FRUIT,USE IT INSTEAD OF THE COLD WATER WHEN YOU PREPARE THE JELLO.

I hate to be a downer here, but is no one else concerned about eating the huge amounts of sugar/or sugar substitute combined with a big dose of dye?  This sounds yummy, but I would never consider this a "healthy" snack!  If you're using the flavored yogurt you're getting an even bigger sugar whammy.  You'd be much better off adding some fresh fruit to the yogurt than jello!....just my two cents worth.....

Another way instead of using water: empty the juice from a can of fruit and then add the fruit.
