Keeping It Clean

Category: Home
For an easy to clean up work surface that is perfect for breading chicken cutlets, put a few drops of water on your counter and then a sheet of wax paper. The wax paper will never move, and clean up is a breeze.

Because I have a disposal in my sink, I do all of my flouring and breading in bowls in the sink.  All mess is washed down the the drain!

I do this when I make biscuits. It works great. You can also use aluminum foil.

I bread my chicken/pork chops/whatever in a wide & shallow soup/pasta bowl.  Then I just toss out the extra breading and put the bowl in the dishwasher...

That works for rolling out pie dough also.

Our newspaper comes in a really thick, wide bag. My cutting board fits in it perfectly.  When I am cutting chicken, I lay it on my wrapped cutting board and then just pull the bag up off the board when finished, tie it off and toss it in the garbage.

I like using a cookie sheet, especially if I am doing chicken.  Pop in the dishwasher or sink and sanitizing it is easy!

Great idea - I always use waxed paper when making hamburger patties and just never thought of using it with other meats, especially with the drops of water to hold it in place!

We use a single napkin or paper towel with water under the cutting board. Also, save all fast food napkins for this! Free then!

For a cheaper way to get wax paper, save the bags that come in cereal boxes! Then you can also have it handy for play-dough and other crafts! :)

Better to put it a dish with a low side. Bread crumbs tend to move alot and a flat surface will not stop an "overflow". So if you are very neat, this is a good idea

I love that idea!  I recently bought wax paper and have been using it for everything.  So much more economical than paper towels!  It's also great in the microwave to cover food instead of a papertowel.  I have been doing the same thing as Marilu to keep my counters cleaner, but did not think of the water drops to keep it steady!  Thanks, Marilu!Kiss
