Get Fit and Calm - Great Combo

Category: Home
Even though I have to make myself do it, exercise, any kind, is great for helping with problems because it can calm you down and give you a different aspect to your problem when you are cooling down.

I know this is all just the same things I said and felt years ago when I used to do a lot of walking and arobics. Have been trying to get stated again, because I am taking classes to become a LPN. I know I would be able to make better grades and fill better if I would just get up. Reading your comments have helped me to remmeber, how great it felt to be active. Thanks for the reminder. I pray this will give me the will to get up and get started. Marilyn

I find your comment to be true. I don't really care to exercise in a gym, so walking or cleaning the house helps me to think or calm down when I am stressed.

Exercise, along with being a good healthy choice, is a great known stress reliever!

I love to take a 30 minute brisk walk through the neighborhood. I listen to my favorite songs on my mp3 player to keep up my pace. Usually about 10 minutes into the walk I'm really into it. It's a great way to sort out any problems or just clear my thoughts from a hectic day.  I walk solo because it's my 'me' time.

I started exercising 3 months ago, and it has really reduced my anger when dealing with my teenagers. Now when they really upset me, if time permits, I will always go to the YMCA or go out for a fast, hard walk before I address the situation. I will always be calmer, and it has taken the yelling out of our household. I wish I learned this earlier!!!

I agree with everybody's comments! As a personal trainer & avid runner, I get to see the positive effects of exercise on a person's body, mind, & soul on a daily basis. Its amazing what exercise & a positive attitude can do!  :)

Exercise is key to good mental and physical health. Stress ages a person, exercise helps with stress. Exercise is the key to aging well and having energy.

With our oldest child in cancer treatments and with two miscarriages.....I need exercise to grieve and get my anger out.

I teach K-3 and even though I'm tired when I get home in the afternoons I go for a 2 mile walk. If I don't I actually have less energy in the evenings. Walking also helped me lose 45 lbs last year!

I couldn't agree with you more. Once you get a task done as you're cooling down, I usually forget what was bothering me. Not always tho. It sure does help a lot.

Exercise releases endorphins which make us feel more energized and in turn makes us calmer! It also takes our mind off of issues that arise in our lives. Taking the kids to the park to walk or to fly kites (if it's windy) increases that energy because the clean air also helps the lungs! Increase in oxygen = increase in feel good! I love this site!! Cool^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Go play^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Tongue out

Smile This is really true, if I have time to exercise, I feel so much better. It helps me be able to focus more on what I am doing, instead of thinking about all my aches and pains!
