Kitchen Tools for the Feet

Category: Health & Beauty
Kitchen sponge with Teflon pad. I cut one in half, keep it in the shower, sponge down with soap on top to absorb water around it. When I shower, I use the sponge, filled with soap and the Teflon pad to scrub my toes and heels. Great for cleaning your feet. I wish they made one with a handle about 6 inches long or so and angled to get under your feet.

I think this could be a problem if you're a diabetic though. If you're going to do this check w/ ur podiatrist first.

This might sound silly to some...but everyone is talking about how to relieve foot problems....my mother has bad feet, and being 73 with hip problems, can't bend down well, so I fixed her up with a deep kitty litter box, got some sand from the beach (5 gal bucket 3/4 full) poured it in the litter box, put almost 1 gal water to make the sand wet (not standing water)....and then she puts her feet in it, pushing them around, it messages her feet, scrubs/cleeans her feet, and increases the circulation in them (she's borderline diabetic)...this way, she doesn't have to reach down where she can't reach, and gets her feet pampered with just 5-10 min in the evening....we leave it in her bedroom so she can pamper her feet before bed...if you have cats, buy the litter box with the lids (not the privacy cover....lol)  It's like walking on the beach she says......

Hi....I took one of those long bath brushes and used gorilla glue to glue one of those thick heavy duty green scrubbie pads(buy in pkg of 5 or 10 at Home Depot) to the back of my Bath brush, I've cut it to match shape of brush head,( a long handle loofah brush works great too)...and it works great for my feet until late spring...Cool...then I walk barefoot on the beach (sorry all, I live on the coast) where the sand then finishes cleaning my feet and takes off the heavy callusses, as I go barefoot at home alot....the sand keeps my feet scrubbed and soft...lol...but for winter I use the green scrubbie on my bath brush so I can reach my feet in the shower....

This idea really works. I have had callus's on the sides of my feet,and heels for so long. I was recently diagnosed borderline diabetic and sent to a podiatrist. He said I'd need extra treatment for the callus's.Well I saw this article re: the teflon pad,tried it in the shower. And I have no more callus's after the first time I used it. My feet are now happy feet. Have not had to return to the podiatrist,who by the way wanted to use a dremol tool to file my callus's down,lol. Thanks alot for the idea.

They do have one with a handle, made for dishes and pots, and you can put liquid soap in the handle. I have one in the kitchen, and one in the bathroom, I bought it in Dollar general. And I just love them!!!!

That is such a great great idea!  The only time I really feel like the toes get a good scrubbing is when I get a pedicure.  Now that it is winter I will not be getting as many pedicures.  This tip came to me at just the right time I will certainly give it a try.

Hi, just about the scrub brush for your feet. I found a long brush, to use on my feet, as I can not bend to do so by myself. So therefore, you can have the best of both worlds.

I use a nail brush in the shower for scrubbing my feet.  When I read the idea of using a scrub sponge I was thinking about  cleaning the shower with it while you are in there.  Maybe that way I can keep up with it and it wouldn't such an ordeal to clean it.  I'm going to try it and continue to use my nail brush on my feet.

If you check in the tropical fish area in you supermart. They have a handled scratcher used for the cleaning in a fish tank. It works great for feet and also the back;

Scotch Brite makes this for dishes. You could fill the handle with your favorite scrub or body wash and then it would be infused into the sponge through the handle. I am so using this ides!

How creative!  I love it!   Reminds me of the Seinfeld where Cramer did his dishes in the shower to save money! LOL!  What will we women think of next!

Here's an idea but I'm not sure if it would work because I don't have one in the house to look at, but what about the dish cleaner with the handle that you pour dish liquid into... do you think it would work if you filled it with body wash instead? I do believe it also has a small scrubber on one side!  Smile

We put a small dry erase board over our fridge water/ice dispenser once my son discovered it was there. Now we no longer have puddles on the floor and he can use the space to draw. And my husband and I use it once in awhile for notes too.

I've never even thought about doing this!  Thanks for the great idea.  I actually tried facial scrub on my feet this morning because I was so desperate (it didn't work).

My podiatrist suggested Scotchbrite pads for this purpose! I've cut one pad into several and used one for several months. I just threw the first one away yesterday and will start a new one. It really works well.

I found a wonderful foot scrubber, elbow scrubber, rough skin taker offer (Ha Ha) http://www.odiescreations.etsy.com  these scrubbies are great for scrubbing anything. They are make of 100% cotton thread interweaved with nylon cord. I have marked them down to a rock bottom price and if you mention vocal point I will send you two for the price of 1.  Smile
