Instead of Wednesday Pasta night our family has a left-over night. The kids 4 1/2 & 3 love the buffet of left-overs I set out on the kitchen counter...they get to choose what they want and can have something different than everyone else. It's become a fun family dinner game.

I have found it's easier to make multiple tv dinner type meals in Glad containers and either keep them in frig for kids to eat, send for lunches, etc. One other idea for bulk produce. When you freeze it, first lay it out on a cookie sheet so it freezes individually and then seal it. That way when you need a little of this and that open the bag and grab a handful.

Our family does this also, we call it the must go meal. Leads to a lot less waste of food

My friend taught me this is called "Must Go Night". Trash pick up is Friday so Thursday is everything left over must go.

i think that is one of the most sensible and fun ideas that i've ever heard about what to do with leftovers. it helps the kids to feel like they have a choice in what they eat and the added bonus is that nothing goes to waste. i love it!

I do leftover night every week, the night before trash goes out. I am now going to call it buffet night instead! Sounds much more fun! ;o)

Maybe I need to make more food so I have leftovers! I generally do not cook that much to have leftovers past lunch for me the next day - except for chili!

I like that idea sounds great to me I will start doing the same thing. Also you can throw everything in a pot and make a big pot of surprize soup.

I like the flavor combinations of a Supreme pizza. For me, they also last longer, as I cut them in smaller slices.

That sounds like a great idea, I know that my husband would love this and every one gets what they like best.

This is a great Idea! Our family has a left-overs night every week also and for almost 10 years they look forward to it. I have at times even caught them saying "Don't eat all the pasta. It'll be great for left-overs night." We like to heat everything up and put them in covered containers so it makes it more of a suprise at the dinner table when time for the unvailling.
