I've always dressed up when I took my daughter trick or treating. I put on a long dark cape with a hood, dark shoes, long flowing black dress and a black hood that I found at party city a few years ago. it looks so totally cool and scary and with the extra hood on underneath the capes hood, no one can tell if I am looking at them or not but I can see perfectly through the mesh of the hood. I would stand at the corner of the sidewalk and just stre at people as they walked by, never saying a word and watch as my kid went door to door getting candy. She didn't want it looking like her mommy was with her so I stayed back and let her do ehr thing and she would tell me later how much I was freaking the other people on that street out. lol

We have more family and friends over on Halloween night than on Thanksgiving, we decorate the yard and house a few weeks before. On Halloween night our whole family get's dressed up, I make a couple of huge trays of mostacholi and set up a buffet and everyone brings finger foods to share. A group of us takes the little kids door to door and the rest of our guests stay back and hand out the candy. The kids candy provides plenty of dessert!

I decorate the outside of my house to the max, with tomb stones, several moving zombies, devils, a coffin, remote control rat and gremlin, have a cemetery fence complete with finnels, I use two fog machines, a witches cauldron that mists, strobe lights, and bubble machine that makes foggy bubbles. I get over 300 trick or treaters every year since I do up my house so BIG. Plus someone always dresses up and lays down in the cemetery and jumps up to scare the on lookers. We get a laugh at the kids too scared to come to the house for candy, as they stand by the tree near the street and say "lady throw the candy over here" lol It's a riot to see who dares to get some candy, and who runs past. Even the cars driving down the street stop, get out, trick or treat and off they go again. I get a lot of pleasure knowing the kids enjoy it every year, and don't know what to expect since I add something new every year.

We don't have kids yet, but we love giving out candy and seeing all the adorable costumes! My hubby's a big softie - last year he nearly dumped the whole bowl into the bag of an adorable tiny girl in a giraffe costume. We usually just cozy up on the couch with a few beers (or chick drinks for the hubby, lol) and watch a movie in between doorbell rings. I don't decorate too much (I go all out at Christmas though!) - just a few spiders/bats/pumpkins outside. I might give myself some fun Halloween-themed makeup this year, though. :)

I live in a senior RV Park-gated so no kids , we are having a party, of course all of my children are already grown just starting their own families and I actually bought a costume this year I am 46 yrs old and have never dressed up since I've been an adult so I am pretty excited except how much fun is a hallowen party full of senior citizens gonna be, all the fun is seeing kids in their costumes. and to top it off I am in a wheelchair so can't really go elsewhere, like a public function in our very small community, since I don't drive. And I live too far away from my children for them to come help liven things up with me here.Does anyone have any suggestions, I have decorated some mostly fall/ autumn decorations lights etc.my email for suggestions is c0wgirl63@yahoo.com and my name is Shauna.

We love Halloween at our house. I decorate every year with a cool, spooky Halloween tree, lots of little things around the house as well as lights and a big blow up pumpkin out on the lawn. We keep it tame because our kids are small and we don't want to freak them out. Last year we went to a local event at a historic home in our area. The Jack O'Lantern Blaze! Check out the website. We loved it and we're going back again this year.

Every year we have a halloween party in our barn for my grand kids and my family. It started out just for the kids , but my family always comes too. We dress up and play games and have a lot of food. We always have hot mulled cider. We decorate with corn husks and orange lights, also spider webs, ghost , bats. It's a good time . Happy Halloween.

Hi... I've been in the habit of having my daughters go to a pumpkin patch to pick out small pumpkins for all the members of our family(4). The girls get to paint their pumpkins. We attend about 3 different festivals since they all do different things such as hayrides, games, costume contests, parade, crafts, etc....it is always a blast for my kids. And yes, I put up a huge white ghost the past few years that you couldn't miss passing by my house....it has lights inside of it so it basically glows in the dark & is sort of like a balloon with air that shoots into it to make it seem as if it's floating. Also, the kids look forward to trick or treating each year....either their Dad or myself will take them around the neighborhood while one of us stays in our driveway to pass out candy.

We decorate our house inside and out. Each year adding to our outside decorations. We have ghosts, scarecrow person and a mummy that I have made plus the lights, mummy in a casket, a witch, a big spider, tombsones and bones. When I was little I lived in the country and my parents didn't decorate and we didn't have kids come to our house for trick or treating, so when I got my own home I started really getting into Halloween. I even have my own costumes to wear that night. We have lots of kids stop at our house because of the decorations. I love Halloween.By Ione

Since my children are grown and my grandchildren live out of state I've been going over to my aunt's house to be with her sister (another aunt) who has down's syndrome and has the mind set of a 7 year old. She loves to dress up each year and hand out candy. I always go early and take us supper from somewhere of her choice. We eat and dress up, then go out to the carport and hand out candy to all the kids that come by. There is always alot of children that come to this subdivision so we have a terrific time each year. This allows me to spend time with my precious aunt and I also get the chance to enjoy all the costumes and children because I don't have trick or treaters where I live. Plus, this year I have a new little Yorkie dog and I will be dressing her up as well as she loves people also.

We live in a Housing Division that is backed by a Board of Christian Life Style. I love where we live, but I also still believe that children need to be kids and do things to have fun. We don't get too many Trick or treaters out here, but, the little and bigger ones have learn to come to our house, because we make it worth their while with lots of Goodies. The kids start talking about coming to our house to trick or treat the first of the month. They get so excited. I am glad there are still some good and safe places for the kids to go. Happy Halloween to All and Many Blessings Until Next Time!Donna
