Forget the Clothes in the Dryer?

Category: Around the House
Hey Single ladies, and of course all Mothers too. Have you ever been working in the house all day, just doing everything? Well...sure we all do!Thats why we are all mostly Housewives. But,if you are ever busy in the home doing cleaning, washing etc...Then you forget about your clothes drying in the dryer. To find that they have all wrinkled on you.Never fear cause there is a solution Ladies.Just go get a dishtowel and run it under the tap water in one of your sinks. Then ring it out and throw it back in the dryer with those wrinkled clothes.Come back in about 20 to 30 minutes. All them clothes are just like you want them ready for the hangers and you can fold the others up to be put in the drawals.Hope this gives you a better way to look at those forgotten clothes in the dryer. When you are washing the laundry...

Throw in a new dryer sheet, spray a few pumps of water, from a spray bottle. ( Or do what, I do. I make my own, Air freshener spray,  it really saves alot of money too.). You pour some fabric softener into an empty spray bottle, fill w/water, add small amount of rubbing alcohol, mix, spray and volia, you have just save yourself, about $6-7.00.  I use mine all over the house.  I try & keep one next to the dryer as well!  It also works well, not only for wrinkles, clothes left in the dryer,& to freshen up something that has been hanging in the closet. Put clothing in the dryer spray, 2 times & run the dryer for 10 minutes, nice & fresh, no more wrinkles!

Thats a great idea. I use a spray bottle. A finished spray bottle of a cleaner is fine. Rinse and fill with water. Sit on top of dryer and when clothes are forgotten, open dryer and spray once or twice depending on the size of load. Turn dryer back on for about five min. Works great.

When this happens to me, I put in a wet wipe and turn the dryer on for about 10 minutes.  Wrinkles are all gone.

I always leave mine in the washer, so I rerun the rinse cycle and put in some fabric softener.  It works good for me.  When I leave them in the dryer I just rerun the dryer for ten minutes and that works for me, although I'll try the dishtowel trick to see if it works better.

That's good to know.  I usually wake up to find that my work clothes are still in the dryer from the night before and look like a donkey has been chewing on them.I will try the dishrag thing and see how that works for me.  Thank you

I have done this for quite a while, and it really does work!  This is how my daughter, age 15, chooses to "iron" her clothes before wearing them.  Since there usually only one or two items, she throws it in for about five minutes!

The same idea works very well when you take stored clothes out for the season.  Sometimes, I put the clothes in without the damp towel; setting the dryer on low, just adding a little heat and air seems to get some wrinkles out too.  If you have items which are not supposed to go in the dryer, set the dryer on No Heat; the tumbling with air works just fine (think shaking a pillow to plump it up).

This little tip also works on Sunday morning when your running late for Church. I put our Church clothes in with a damp towel and a fabric softener sheet to de-wrinkle them. Works great and the smell fresh too.

What I do incase I forget my cloths in the dryer and they are to hang I have a sink in my laundry room and I keep a small bottle that I bought at walmart used to mist hair for 59 cents I mist the cloths and make sure to toss them around a bit and within 10 minutes they are dry and wrinkle free!

I tried this with my husbands uniforms and I have to say this tip SUCKS!!  None of the wrinkles came out. I had better luck just turning the dryer on for 25mins. All the wrinkles came out then..

I just spritz a few sprays from a water-filled spray bottle into the dryer & reset for 5 min. Everything comes out wrinkle-free.

This is such a great tip.  I found your tip about the dishtowel works better than a washcloth which is what I used to use.  I am guessing it holds more moisture than a wash cloth.

This is a good tip but the way it's written is off-putting. "Single ladies" are mostly housewives? Huh? Just submit the tip straight - don't try so hard to jazz it up.

This happens every weekend, when I am trying to multitask - vacuum, dishes, laundry, working outside in the yard, catching up on work from the week, grocery shopping.....

Wow, what a great idea.  Thanks for letting me know because I almost always leave clothes in the dryer because I always seem to get busy doing other things or I have to leave or I fall asleep (I usually do laundry in the middle of the night when I can't sleep).  Thanks again, I will definitely be using this one!

If you forget clothes in the washing machine, that smell stays sometimes, even after rewashing it regularly.  But if you rewash it and add a cup of white vinegar to the load along with the soap, it removes the odor.  And it won't smell like vinegar at all.  It also works for used clothes you buy that smell like weird colognes.

Instant wrinkle remover products (downy) work great but, a WORD OF WARNING, I tried one of the instant wrinkle remover products (plain label) before putting clothes in the dryer, they came out with bleach type spots ruined!!  These do not work wet in the dryer!

I've had to do this several times, and it does really work well.  Anyone who still hangs their cloths outside: when you bring them in, throw them in the dryer on air dry for 10 to 15 minutes and it will take most of the stiffness out of them. You still have the great smell and a softer feel.

I did this last night actually.  But it was for a top I wanted to wear out for dinner. Took it from the closet and it was all wrinkled.  I had a sweater that had the same problem. I just put a wet washcloth in the dryer with them and they came out perfectly! I even put in a fabric softener sheet to make them smell nice. :)I got the idea from a coworker. :)

This is what I do all the time!  You can still take care of other stuff while this is working... you can't really do anything else while you are ironing :)

I do that all the time,it really works! I guess I should pay more attention to my clothes. I also put half of a dryer sheet in with the damp towel to give it a extra burst of freshness. Try it,this trick really works great!
