Doing the task of “cleaning” is never a fun job. But once done, there is a great sense of relief and accomplishment. Now, what to do with the items?
Getting a few bucks back out of things is nice. There are a few ways to go about this:
Have a Yard sale Positive: Make money Drawbacks: Time consuming – setting prices, storing items until you have the event and setting up for the day of the sale.
Drop off at a Consignment Store Positive: Make money Drawbacks: Some places you have to wait until the items sell. No immediate funds. Consignment stores may not take a lot of your items and you have to wash articles and hang before dropping off.
Or just donate:
Locate donation stores such as Good Will , Salvation Army , Churches, Free Stores, Red Cross
Positive: Many places have scheduled pick up from homes. Tax deductions are available. Help out those less fortunate. Unload quicker!
Drawbacks: Won’t have cash in hand for reimbursement of items.
Money is tight, especially during these times. But we all probably have things we don’t use or need anymore, but someone else certainly could. You can make a difference.
