Meeting at a different person's house once a week or bi-weekly, each of us bringing a dish to pass, playing cards (we donate winnings to charity, but you can use change if money is an issue).Play darts, have a movie night-oldies are fun. Wine and cheese night, Christmas in July-type shindig, costume party, disco-night. Use your imagination....

Wekk we kije to play scattagories, it's fun for all ages and it helps to improve your speed and your thinking process as well. I loved this game since the first time I played it, and the funny thing is you buy it once and have fun forever.

We play board games, we play cards, we play Wii. Durring the summer we hang out at one of our friends pool every weekend. We start the day swimming and everyone brings snacks, then at night we all contribute to a big meal. The pool days are my favorite.

WE really like to play Scattergories or Trivial Pursuit downstairs, while our kids get together and play upstairs or in the privacy-fenced-in back yard. We put out a mixture of home-made heathy and not-so-healthy snacks. We also have a fire pit, so we like to have people over when the sun goes down- a friend or two will bring a guitar, and we will roast hot dogs and large marshmallows while we listen to the music and talk.

We love to play games. We do the trivial pursuits and monopoly and such. We also play the Wii. We just grill out some hot dogs and have a good time.

Pasta! You can still feed an Army on the cheap. But the bottom line is that good friends are always good times.

Have your friends over for potluck, but ...The dish they're bringing MUST be made from ingredients they already have on hand. NO CHEATING! It might be a snack, a salad, sandwiches, dessert, or whatever they can find in the cupboards, the frig, or the pantry. No trips to the grocery store. You'll be surprised how creative your friends can be when they have to follow this rule!

I participate in a lot of gift exchanges and they can add up! An interesting idea we started at one club was to have every gift be required to come from the 99 cent or dollar store and you could only purchase one gift. The shopping was incredibly interesting and the gifts were fun. This sparked a lot of laughter and conversation as well.

We have a 3 acre pond stocked with Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Blue Gill and Shell Cracker, so we invite friends over to fish in our pond. The kids have a blast and so do the adults. After we have caught enough fish to feed everyone, the guys will clean, fillet and fry up all the fish, while us girls make cole slaw, fries and hush puppies. We all have a wonderful time and it's an inexpensive way to spend a day together.

Neighborhood block parties are good and entertaining for the kids. Everyone brings one thing to eat and we roast marshmallows over the fire. The kids love it and so do they adults

You can have a book review or the lastest movie review night. You also can an arts and crafts night. If some one knows how to knit or crotchet they can show others how to make interesting gifts for the holidays or birthdays.

We usually make lots of salads and only one meat item. Potato salad, chicken salad, spam salad, any kind of salad and maybe a brisket w/lots of rolls and pinto beans. With a large family we don't have any pretenses, there are no hurt feelings when you are "told" by someone to bring X item. Everybody has a specialty and if it's really big then 2 or 3 people bring that item. Another thing is to always have hot dogs on hand, if the party turns out to be bigger than expected you are o.k.

We like to have a grill out at a friend's house. Each person brings their own steak/meat of choice and use one person's grill. They also have a pool table and drinks! Also like to have a rock band concert: One person on vocals, one on drums, one on guitar. Great fun for all and quite a laugh if not all your friends can sing well.

Netflix/movie night. Have friends come over and have a pot luck night. Knitting or crocheting parties are fun, too.

www.houseparty.com This site is awesome. You sign up to have these parties and the companies send you free stuff to give out to your guests. They also send you stuff for entertainment. I once had a party for a show on the USA channel. They sent me the season premier DVD and a game to play based on the show's theme. They also sent me 10 backpacks, 10 pens and 10 notepads to give out to 10 of my guests. For the food, you can have a whole potluck thing going on.Hope everyone finds this as fun as I have.

We have Bible Study nights. We just get together, a few of us and each of us take turns reading scriptures and asking or answering questions. Sometimes we have fun snacks or make cookies.

I suggest people host a Wildtree Tasting. The food is great. Your guests learn how to eat healthy and affordable and as the host you get 20% of the sales if free products of your choice. It's a great get together. For more information check out www.debraschramm.mywildtree.com.

We do themed pot luck dinners. An example of one would be Italian night where everyone brings a main Italian dish, and I provide the extras such as salad and desert.
