I usually watch the news or a favorite show as I am ironing clothes. This ensures that i get the ironing done without getting too bored or tired of it!

Washing clothes is the easiest multi-task to perform, I also Iron as soon as the clothes are done drying. I find it takes less time to iron if I do them as soon as the dryer stops.

I work from home and never seem to get a chance to answer my personal emails or visit my favorite sites (like Vocalpoint!).  So I make sure I give myself an actual "lunch break".  I relax and eat my lunch and refuse to let myself do any work related activities!!! That is my time to catch up with friends, post online, or just browse for pleasure instead of my job!

I work from home/computer work so I will run laundry when I am working.  Soak dishes so I can wash them quickly when I take a break.  I listen to music all day when I am working.  I hold my pets in my lap when I work (not all day, but sometimes!) so they can get their attention too.  I start dinner cooking while I am working.  I spray down the bathroom and let it soak so I can run in there and wipe it all down quickly.  I watch tv while on the treadmill (or I listen to music).  I have Oprah on in the background so I can listen while working.  I am the queen of multitasking, and I would never get it all done if I wasn't!

I feel like that Cathy character on cards. Dishwasher open, T.V. on, crockpot going, run and put clothes in the washer/dryer, answer the home phone, kids asking questions while our other teenager is calling my cell phone that he's done with baseball practice and needs a ride home. But wait.....I'm in the car and our teenager calls and he's getting a ride home from a friend. That's a daily schedule at least 5 days a week sometimes 6 now that it's baseball season.  But I'd never change my life! Compliments to All Mom & Dads!

I start my laundry while I am showering. Then when I am ready to leave the house for work into the dryer it goes. Later that night while watching my favorite TV shows, I fold that laundry. It helps me forget how boring it is. My other secret is to get my son involved with basic tasks. When I am putting the dishes away, he does the silverware. He like to help and it saves me time.

I totally relate to you in sooo many ways. My name too is Jenn and I work from home on my computer. I do exactly the same things you listed in order to get it all done!

I start laundry then prep & start the evening meal to slow cook and when the laundry goes into the dryer I clean the bathroom and vacuum until laundry is dry. The evening meal will be ready by the time I finish folding the clothes.

I feed the baby, he's a month old, and my school work. I am an online college student, work from home, and have four kids total. It's the only time I have!

I vacuum and dust during commercial breaks when I workout.  Also, I scrub the shower when I am showering.

I go on the computer and pay bills or check my email while I do the laundry since my computer is in the basement. That way I switch loads without being distracted doing something upstairs.

Get this ladies... I do the dishes and laundry while going to the store and then dry laundry while putting the food and dishes away.  I also vaccum to an exercise video and do my stretching while cleaninging the floors. This also works while cooking.. just twist and bend and twist and bend. you can get all your housework done while exercising in 3 hours or so and then watch tv and make your family wonder how anything ever gets done..lol

Our school participates in a program each spring called Parents as Reading Partners.  Child #3 is now in school and finding time to have each of them read aloud to me at bed time is just too much.  So I now ask them to read to me while I'm cooking dinner, doing dishes, or folding laundry or some other activity that keeps me in one room for a period of time.  I can get my chores done and the kids get some one-on-one reading time and we both have more time to spend with each other later.

While it may save time to throw the clothes in the dryer and leave the house or go to sleep, I seriously hope everyone keeps in mind how easily fires can start from common problems such as lint build-up either in the lint filter, the ducting itself, or even where the duct is vented out of the house.  It's also common for switches to go bad allowing the dryer to run and run and run . . . until there is a fire.  You wouldn't throw something in the toaster or leave a curling iron on while you go to sleep or leave the house for eight hours, and leaving your dryer running is an equally unsafe idea.

I hold my doggies in my lap while I relax and watch TV after I get home from work. We both get to enjoy time together. I wash my hair at night and let it dry overnight on a towel. Saves energy, time, better for the environment and my hair.
