Multi-task While Sleeping...Who Knew

Multi-task While Sleeping...Who Knew

There’s nothing like that feeling when you wake up after a good night’s sleep. You’re energized and ready to take on the world. But what if you could do more than rest your body while you sleep? By tapping into a few beauty secrets and setting some machines on autopilot, you can wake up with a brighter smile, have customized news ready for you in your e-mail box, and do loads of laundry.

Moisturize
Skin cells regenerate slightly faster at night than during the day. So, while your skin is repairing itself, boost your beauty slumber by sleeping on your back, not side or face. This’ll help reverse how gravity affected you during the day. Sip lots of water through the day to help with this nighttime rejuvenation and turn on a humidifier to help prevent moisture loss. If you take a shower before bed, seal in moisture with a hydrating lotion or cream before turning in.

Stay Informed
No time to sift through the morning newspaper for the news? Have your computer be your own personal reporter. By using Google Alerts, you’ll receive an e-mail including news, blog, video, and forum updates on any topic on the Internet. Visit google.com/alerts to start the news flowing.

Save the World
By signing up with the World Community Grid, you can donate your idle computer time to a project that’ll help scientists with projects ranging from fighting hunger to looking for a cure for cancer. Visit worldcommunitygrid.org and download some software. Your computer then becomes a valuable resource for researchers while you’re asleep.

Wash and Dry Laundry
New laundry room machines combine the functions of a washer and dryer in one appliance. That means no waiting up for the buzzer so you can switch loads; the washer-dryer can just hum along while you’re sleeping. Along with saving space, some of these washer-dryer combos don’t require external venting, meaning you can put them just about anywhere. Cycle time for completely washing and drying a load is about 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Lose Weight
Having trouble losing weight? Researchers are finding more and more links between less sleep and heavier weight. What’s the connection? Not getting enough sleep can bring on an imbalance of hormones that help regulate appetite in your body. So when you cut your sleep hours too short, you feel hungrier—especially for not-so-waist-friendly foods like candy, cookies, and chips. Your perfect goal is 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night.

Able to do two things at once? What time saving secrets do you have to get more things done?

Interesting article.  The moisturize tip about sleeping on your back, not side or face, was something I haven't heard before.  I've used Google Alerts and it is a great tool to receive alerts either instantly, daily, or weekly, etc.  So don't worry that you'll get tons of individual alerts after signing up Laughing  I am considering purchasing a washer/dryer in one appliance because I just moved into an apartment without a washer/dryer.  This combined washer/dryer will fit in small apartments!  In addition to its time savings, it is also more environmentally friendly by using less water, etc.
