Here's the scoop on some of the most popular tools to share and publish information on the internet:

Tell-a-Friend

Tell-a-Friend makes it very easy for you to let your friends and family know when you find something interesting or helpful. You can contact your friends in a variety of ways. This includes email, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Blogs, and Social Bookmarks. Don't worry; we will explain them all if you are new.

Email

Through Tell-A-Friend, you can easily share any interesting things you find by sending an email to your friends and family. You don't have to worry about knowing their email addresses, just select your email provider and enter your email username and password and all of your contacts will show up. It's that easy.

Facebook and Myspace

Facebook and MySpace are two of the most popular "social networks" outright. A social network is a website that provides a way for you to share all sorts of things with your friends and family. This includes sending messages, sharing photos and videos, and lets you also see what your friends are talking about with others.

If you find anything interesting or helpful on Vocalpoint.com, you can you use the Tell-A-Friend feature to easily post something on Facebook or MySpace. When you do this, all of your friends will see your post. To use this feature, just select the either Facebook or Myspace icon from the Social menu in Tell-A-Friend.

Blogs

If you've been surfing the web over the past few years, you've probably heard of "blogs". These personal journals have taken the Internet by storm. Frequently updated and written in a personal tone, a blog is a diary or journal where the writer ("blogger") will write her observations on various topics or provide links to interesting or helpful websites. Just like a newspaper has different columnists for different topics, different bloggers write about different themes or topics they are most interested in.

If you are a blogger, you can easily post something from Vocalpoint in your Blog. Just select the Blog option from Tell-A-Friend, login, and enter your thoughts. They will automatically be put onto your blog.

Some of the most popular blog websites include Wordpress, Blogger (from Google), and Typepad.

Twitter

Twitter is one of the hottest new online tools for sharing quick comments or information. You can let people know what you're up to at any time of day or night. It also allows you to keep track of what other people are doing as well, either by monitoring their Twitter updates online, or by receiving updates directly to your phone in the form of SMS text messages.

For example, you can choose to follow Barack Obama or one of your favorite celebrities. Anytime they "tweet" (a quick comment or update), you will be notified right away and can share the information with your friends or respond.

Think of Twitter like a new age CB Radio. When you broadcast a message out, anyone who is following you (or in CB terms, on the same channel as you) will see your message.
